Title: Associate Pipeline Maintenance Technician (Boise City, OK)Location: Oklahoma-Boise City El Paso Corporation owns and operates North America's largest natural gas pipeline system. We are currently looking to add an experienced Associate Pipeline Maintenance Specialist to our Central Maintenance Division located in Keyes, OK.

This position requires experience and knowledge in operating and maintaining heavy equipment (backhoe, track hoe, side boom, dozer, and blade). Daily responsibilities include but not limited to assist in hot tapping and stopple equipment, performing valve maintenance and leak survey's using flame ionization equipment, conducting pigging operations, utilizing pipe cleaning equipment both internal and external, and have basic ability to read and interpret blueprints for both pipeline and plants.

Incumbents are required to be knowledgeable of both OSHA safety regulations and DOT pipeline regulations. To be considered, qualified candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Incumbent may be required to operate large truck and trailer hauling equipment.

Position also requires frequent travel, being away from home for extended periods of time, and working often in inclement weather and subject to call outs. Previous welding experience and the ability to pass company welding test as per API 1104 utilizing Group I, II and I electrodes would be a plus.

Qualified candidates should also possess the ability to obtain their CDL within 6 months to 1 year from date of hire.

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of industry related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and DOT regulations
  • Valid driver license and a good driving record
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple requests from several sources
  • Applicant must be self motivated and be able to prioritize assignments and follow directions
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment
  • Position also requires frequent travel, being away from home for extended periods of time and working often in inclement weather
  • Manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, walking on catwalks, balancing on piping, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, lifting, ascend and descend slopes and ditches
  • Subject to call out at all hours
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate, troubleshoot and repair all types of mechanical equipment
  • Skilled in the use of computers for maintaining records and e-mail communications.
