As a key leader and member of the Novartis brand marketing organization, this individual will lead the strategic marketing for MS Pipeline products and Extavia mature brand asset with full P/L responsibility. Leading the strategic marketing for the brand. Developing annual operating plans, including financial forecasts and analysis. Monitoring the product performance, competitive environment and customer base to quickly identify plan changes. Managing annual promotional budgets and marketing mix. Managing ROI assessments of tactical programs, ensuring proper execution throughout the field forces. Leading interactions with extended brand team members including other functional areas (Sales, Managed Markets, Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, Training, Finance, and others) and building consensus/buy-in among these team members. Updating senior management on strategy and action plans to address competitive threats and/ or exogenous market events. Significant collaboration required with global and in line MS brands on development of brand strategy, clinical and life cycle development plans and overall commercialization plan Provide leadership to the brand team and extended brand team members including coaching, advising and developing team members. Represent brand appropriately at BFLT (Business Franchise Leadership Team). Market insights and integration: Uncovering market and customer-based insights that drive brand strategy and program development Strategic brand planning Develop strategic brand plans that optimize short and long term brand value including shaping the external environment to improve brand potential. Marketing mix and execution Developing tactical plans and optimizing execution through appropriate marketing, sales, and medical channels. Product development and lifecycle management Driving development strategy to create sustainable business value. Business Analytics Applying financial/business analysis and building business cases that drive quality decision making and management processes. Minimum requirements: Education: Business and/or biological science education with concentration in marketing are preferred (MBA a plus). Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in US in-line pharmaceutical marketing. Sales and Sales Management experience required Experienced leader with a proven track record launching complex biologic products. Successful experience in product launches and specialty medicines (biologics a significant plus). MS experience a plus specialty experience required. Experience shaping and implementing unique distribution and patient service models. Experience in direct to patient and consumer marketing (this is a consumer advertising sensitive category). Strong leadership to effectively lead cross functional teams, US management and manage relationship with global team. Excellent quantitative abilities and excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) are a must. Global Marketing experience preferred. An agile thinker. Someone who can learn from experience and translate prior challenges into ideas and tactics that improve future results. Ability to work in a highly complex, matrixed environment who can stay focused on critical goals and outcomes and not be distracted by daily operational challenges. The incumbent must possess a high level of analytical and conceptual skills in order to provide strategic focus to the brand. Strong executive presence and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization. Potential to grow into a more senior role within Novartis.
