Gannett Fleming construction management and construction inspection professionals provide service on projects ranging from small projects to multi-million dollar capital improvement programs. Our mission is to employ construction staff committed to "state-of-the-art" procedures ranging from transportation infrastructure to office buildings, schools, universities, and industrial facilities, water, wastewater, and dam/levee construction projects. Gannett Fleming is looking for experienced Inspectors to join our Jacksonville, FL water/wastewater Construction Management team. The qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate closely relevant experience in monitoring construction contractors and inspecting contractors' work to verify compliance with plans and specifications for water and wastewater pipeline and treatment plant rehabilitation projects in a major city environment. The qualified candidate will also be able to demonstrate superior understanding of construction means and methods, importance of public and worker safety and techniques to measure quality of materials and workmanship.

  • Performs on-site compliance inspection, quality assurance and progress monitoring, and payment application review at various construction projects for conformance to specifications and codes.
  • Documents that construction is completed in accordance with contract plans and specifications, coordinates shop drawings, reviews material lists, and permits requirements.
  • Coordinates required materials testing.
  • Represents client on-site providing quality assurance, documentation, cost control and time management related services.
  • Performs final inspection, prepares punch lists, and determines all items on the punch list are completed or corrected by the contractor.
  • Maintains and reviews comprehensive project records including daily diaries, documentation of construction workforce, equipment, and materials records, inspection reports, project photos, as-built plans, pay quantity records, progress schedules, work orders and monthly payment estimates.
  • Tracks submittals and requests for information. Maintains project correspondence.
  • Participates in Progress and Preconstruction Meetings
  • Completes daily report referencing quality control issues for the project.
  • Performs field checks of all "red-line" as-built plans to assure completeness of the plans




Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree in construction related field preferred
  • Valid Driver's license required
  • Experience with water and wastewater pipeline and treatment plant rehabilitation projects is require
  • Experience with various sewer pipe repair and inspection techniques in PVC, DIP, Clay and AC from 6" through 24" -
  • Experience of FDOT standards for repair remediation in highways, right of ways and easements.
  • Direct experience working with contractors in the field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Must possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • CMIT (Construction Manager in Training) is a plus
  • Solid understanding of construction inspection services, including documentation preparation and control
  • Ability to carry 40 pounds (testing equipment).
  • Experience with quality assurance and quality control techniques.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems for documentation and data management equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and contract specifications
  • Skilled at applying mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine field adjustments.
  • Ability to communicate inspection items effectively and responsibly (verbally and in writing) with internal and external customers (i.e., contractors, owners, sub consultants, designers, architects and fellow team members).
  • Ability to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions, periodic weekend and night work may be required
  • Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain
