Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Admissions, the Senior Director of Admission Pipeline Programs will focus on developing, supporting and measuring the impact of initiatives that target middle and high school students. This key position within the admission office will oversee a talented team of professionals who focus on four critical areas: 1) Pipeline programs that target academically gifted students, 2) High school programs that expose students to NYU and generate revenue, 3) Access programs run by admissions staff and/or faculty at NYU that provide exposure and support for students from underserved schools and communities and 4) Community College Transfer applicant recruitment of and guidance for students applying under the specialized CCTOP program criteria. The Senior Director will be responsible for creating effective communication plans including the strategic use of CRM, online tools and other technical systems that support ongoing outreach, measuring the impact of programs as they relate to strategies and goals, creating strong ties between the NYU community and targeted constituents, developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and relationships among community organizations, reporting annually on the impact of NYU programs and their ability to attain goals. The Senior Director will also work closely with the Admission colleagues and leadership within Student Success to ensure pipelines to NYU are managed well and students receive the attention expected as they potentially make their way into the NYU community as full time students. Strong entrepreneurial, communication, technical and analytical skills are necessary.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree required, masters and/or Ph.D. preferred. Degree must be in student services, education or related field with experience in development and management of admission or high school programs.

Required Experience:
Experience must include at least five (5) years supervision.

Preferred Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible admissions, high school guidance, or non-profit management experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills. Strong analytical, planning, budgeting, computer and reporting skills. Strong interpersonal skills to allow for effective and positive communication with management across all operational areas of the University. Knowledge of higher education and enrollment management and/or admissions issues, policies and practices. Ability to embrace new technology and lead the department in implementing new practices. A demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of integrated student information systems and current technologies for recruitment and admissions; Prior experience with Slate is highly desirable; Skill in utilizing technology to improve processes; Skill in planning and implementing events and programs; Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written.
