ROLE SUMMARY: Reporting to the Global Vaccines Commercial Development lead for the S. aureus & C. difficile vaccines, the asset lead drives the strategic advancement, market development and launch readiness of the late stage C. difficile vaccine program. In this leadership role, the asset lead will ensure alignment across the research and business unit, will facilitate Pfizer investment decision making, will lead global market development and launch readiness planning/execution, and will identify and execute franchise initiatives that will drive the Pfizer vaccines portfolio as a whole. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: The C. difficile vaccine represents a strong candidate in Pfizer's Vaccines portfolio. In his/her function as the asset team lead, key responsibilities include: Leadership * Serves as the asset team lead * Serves as a key point of contact for colleagues in research, clinical development, new business, strategy and innovation, scientific & medical affairs, business development, global and regional commercial partners, as well as with other functional groups and business units across Pfizer. The asset lead will serve as the single point of contact in senior management interactions. * Ensures team effectiveness, ultimately accountable for ensuring the asset teams are working collaboratively towards achieving goals * Serves dual roles as the overall asset lead and also his or her functional role as the commercial lead. Commercial Development deliverables include A: Drives the asset value assessment to allow for strategic organizational investment decision making * Develops, prioritizes and gains endorsement for clinical, regulatory and medical development strategies as part of Pfizer's Portfolio Prioritization process * Leads development of the target product profile including life-cycle strategy * Leads the competitive landscape analysis and explores points of differentiation from a vaccine composition and/or target population point of view. * Oversees the strategic development and the execution of qualitative/quantitative market research projects to define physician demand. * Supports the evolution of the P&R strategy incl. input into access research, assessment of product value vs. standard of care, and monitor changes within the reimbursement landscape to support forecasting scenario development. * Ensures key valuation inputs like PTRS, cost, timelines and revenue are developed and scrutinized. B: Leads Launch Preparation & Market Readiness * Ensures the external and internal environment as well as the brand is ready for pre/post approval phase * Ensures regional colleagues and markets have all tools on time to successfully prepare for launch * Leads the annual strategic and operating plan process incl. asset prioritization process. * Develops and manages annual budget. C: Leads Franchise Initiatives * Maximizes synergies within late-stage portfolio through execution of above asset strategic initiatives * Provides input to Vaccines Disease area strategy covering all assets of the vaccines BU. QUALIFICATIONS: * 10+ years of pharmaceutical experience required; Early candidate development experience and a solid scientific foundation preferred * Minimum Bachelors degree in a healthcare, business or economic field. Masters degree (MSc, MPH) or Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD) preferred. * Strategic Thinking and Anticipate Customer and Market Needs: Ability to think strategically in the context of external market and anticipation of customer needs and facilitate and promote broad thinking within and across the organization.
