Overview:

Under the guidance of the Manager of Workforce Development, the Supervisor of High School Pipelines will lead the development of specialized workforce pipeline programs and sustain current pipeline programs that prepare underrepresented and diverse students for employment in the healthcare and STEM workforce. The Supervisor of High School Pipelines will operate programs to achieve reduction in barriers to admission and retention in college and increase college graduate rates with the goal of preparing students for plans after graduation. The Supervisor will oversee day-to-day staff, and student engagement activities, ensuring compliance. The Supervisor will implement data collection and reporting, and maintain tracking and evaluation of students. The Supervisor is responsible to recruit & retain pre-health professions student in high school and college and will be responsible for providing college preparation and graduation and job preparedness. The Supervisor is responsible to achieve an increase in high school graduation rates for designated high school pipeline programs and an increase in college acceptance rates for designated college pipeline programs. The Supervisor will provide efficient, compliant customer service-oriented programs.



Responsibilities:
  1. Leads day-to-day management of all high school and college support pipeline programs, serving as the lead liaison to develop and sustain college preparation and college retention and experiential opportunities for pre-health professions students.
  2. Leads day-to-day staff, intern and student coordination and engagement activities. Ensure service levels are established and achieved according to AltaMed’s values.
  3. Oversees and manages staff performance, including hiring, selection, development, and engagement.
  4. Oversee relationship with designated schools, ensuring acknowledgement of program deliverables and schools responsibilities.
  5. Manage and nurture relationships with school administrators and students.
  6. Manages the coordination of student participation ensuring effective communication, compliance and an excellent learning experience.
  7. Performs non-clinical supervision of assigned interns and students including but not limited to time and attendance, professionalism and behavior.
  8. In partnership with Talent Management, Manager, and peers implements and customizes evidence-based internship curriculums for high school and college level students in health related fields that align with the Strategic Workforce Plan and prepare students for careers at AltaMed.
  9. Works with the Workforce Development Manager, Development and Grants Management to provide fiscal and compliance required data and reports that support funding opportunities and budget development for pipeline programs, and demonstrate a return on investment.
  10. Prepares monthly productivity reports for the Manager and supports the development of expansion plans. Implements data collection and reporting, and maintains tracking and evaluation.
  11. Participates in program audits and site visits and ensures compliance with Department of Labor and all applicable laws, policies and guidelines. Includes coordination of audit preparation and development of performance enhancement plans and corrective action plans.
  12. Evaluates and assesses programs and ensures that productivity meets program standards, making adjustments as necessary.
  13. Manages the delivery of accurate, timely, and responsive customer services.
  14. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university program in Business Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, School Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, or other related health or social science field required.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in an educational, health or social services setting.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience with workforce development, career development, or student recruiting programs with diverse, underrepresented student populations with an emphasis on admission to college programs and vocational programs. Experience working with students with a variety of academic interests and abilities
  4. Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
