Pipeline Counsel - In House tools ▼ Counsel/Senior Counsel - Pipeline Duties: Reports to the General Counsel of Global Gas, managed on a day to day basis by the Legal Team Lead. Provide experienced, high quality legal advice and counsel to pipeline management and field teams in the following areas: Commercial regulatory issues involving pipeline regulation by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Minerals Management Service, the Surface Transportation Board, and state equivalents, under the Interstate Commerce Act, the Natural Gas Act, and similar state and federal laws and regulations. Pipeline safety and environmental regulation by federal and state authorities including DOT and state equivalents. Handle agency proceedings in state and federal venues, with emphasis on regulatory issues and compliance. Transactional matters, including general contracting and purchase and sale of substantial assets such as pipeline companies or system. General corporate legal advice and counsel, including areas such as antitrust, employment, permitting, procurement, corporate governance, bankruptcy, and real estate. Advice and counsel relating to business entity formation and governance, including joint ventures, partnerships, and LLCs. Qualifications: A Bachelor's and a Juris Doctorate degrees are required, as well as a license to practice law in a U.S.Jurisdiction. A high degree of recent specialized experience of 10 years in providing comprehensive legal advice to clients operating across the entire range of the complex energy pipeline industry is required. Should have a basic understanding of a wide spectrum of issues affecting the energy business generally. Travel is often required. A thorough understanding of legal and commercial issues related to the operation of interstate and intrastate energy pipelines is needed.
