PIPELINE INTEGRITY SUPERINTENDENT
The Pipeline Integrity Superintendent provides support to operations in the E/I, Mechanical, Operations, Integrity disciplines.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicates procedures and delivers training materials to support the training of field resources on pipeline maintenance tasks.
- Engages stakeholders including local municipalities, landowners, and other groups in the areas in which the facilities operate.
- Ensure the adequacy of the ongoing clearing and ROW maintenance programs.
- Assist with the planning and scheduling of digs and other routine PLM projects.
- Support and provide advice to anyone that reports to this position.
- Assists in the emergency response planning and implementation.
- Exemplify ownership/accountability, safety above schedule, hazard recognition, intervention, and effective communication.
- Provide effective leadership of third party contractors' crews in pipeline maintenance activities including:
- Excavate, inspect and repair pipelines safely.
- Execute tool runs and purge pipelines of product when required.
- Assess manpower, equipment, and material needs for each work scope and communicate needs to project engineers/supervisors.
- Understand pipeline alignment drawings and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Recognize unusual operating conditions and initiate required emergency response procedures.
- Assists as needed with both operational and capital budgets and cost approvals.
As the Supervisor you must be willing and able to:

- Work overtime, weekends and holidays as necessary
- Relieve other employees as needed
- Respond to emergency cases/call-outs 24 hours, 7 days a week
- Perform all duties in environmentally sound manner that meets or exceeds regulations
- Possibly work at elevated heights and in confined areas
Position Requirements
- Completion of post-secondary education in construction, project or safety management is an asset.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of technical experience in the implementation of industrial preventative/predictive maintenance programs.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated experience with coaching and mentoring staff.
- Ability to follow and comply with audit, controls, and ethics requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
