Pipeline Safety Specialist tools ▼ Requisition Number 10-0097 Post Date 6/14/2010 Title Pipeline Safety Specialist City Corpus Christi State TX Travel Required 30% Description The Pipeline Safety Specialist is responsible for compliance with 49 CFR Part The candidate will gather and provide extensive oversite of regulatory records as well as be a lead in internal and external regulatory inspections. Interpret and summarize state and federal pipeline safety regulations and develop procedures for field compliance. Provide extensive records management to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Prepare agency incident reports, annual reports, operating permits, safety related condition reports and other state and federal pipeline safety related reports. Coordinate and prepare for on-site inspections by regulatory agencies, evaluate and recommend remedial action. Evaluate and develop curriculum for operator qualification, operations & maintenance and public awareness programs training. Coordinate and prepare operations & maintenance, operator qualification and public awareness program reviews. Assist in emergency call-outs on pipeline releases. Support Pipelines and Terminal operations. Promote continuous improvement in pipeline safety compliance. Requirements Candidate should have a four-year college education from an accredited school. Five years of related experience. Should have an advanced understanding of hazardous liquid pipeline operations. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access software applications, as well as industry related software. Must possess excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to speak in public settings and relate to individuals at all levels of the organization. Must have good interpersonal skills and must be able to work on a team or independently depending on the project. Must be willing to act as the lead person on projects and issues. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to plan, organize and facilitate multiple activities and personnel and consistently produce scheduled results with minimal supervision. Position requires some travel by airplane and automobile. Must be able to transverse uneven walking surfaces and climb stairs and/or ladders at pipeline facilities. specialist must have a valid driver's license and be able to work in the US without sponsorship.
