Precollege Program Coordinator for the Nursing Pipeline Program

Classification: Administrative Staff- Full Time- 12 Months- 2080 Hours

Report To: Associate Dean of Multicultural Affairs and Global Engagment

Description: The Precollege Program Coordinator will partnership with the United Community Center (UCC) to develop a new community-based approach to healthcare education. This position will work as part of a University and community precollege team to implement the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development funded Nursing Pipeline Opportunities Program (NPOP). This position will assist with developing precollege curriculum, preparing middle and high school students for college, facilitating communications with the community and Carroll University to develop a clear pathway for underserved students into the nursing profession. This position will be housed at both the United Community Center and on Carroll's campus.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and coordinate an integrated college preparation specifically focused on the nursing program for high school students and their parents that includes academic and professional advising and mentoring, academic tutoring, career exploration, job fairs, higher education financial planning and other specific campus events.
• Serve as the liaison between Carroll admissions, United Community Center and middle and high school students and their families.
• Maintain records and prepares reports as required.
• Collaborate with the Nursing Pipeline Education Programs between Bruce-Guadalupe Community School, the United Community Center and precollege programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling or an equivalent major required.
• Minimum of two years' experience working with high school or college students required.
• Experience in developing an integrated college preparatory program desired.
• Bilingual ability and/or evidence of Hispanic population experience preferred.
• Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission.
