Role Description Hospira, a Pfizer company, is the global leader of injectable drugs committed to putting patients first by improving access and care worldwide. The Team Lead/Senior Director Pipeline Development & Launch position reports to the Global Sterile Injectables (SI) Pipeline Development Lead within Pfizer Essential Health. Pfizer Essential Health (PEH) includes i.) brands that have lost market exclusivity (generic) and generally the mature patent protected products that are expected to lose exclusivity in most major markets, ii) the Sterile Injectables (SI) business i) Biosimilars and iv.) current and future established products growth initiatives. The SI business is a $7B+ segment for PEH and one of the key pillars of the PEH growth strategy. S/he is responsible for overseeing New Product Launches, prioritizing growth opportunities, determining which products should be further pursued, and creating the strategies for new formulations, including simple and complex; and must ensure a balanced portfolio, and are responsible for creating business cases and gaining approval for new molecules. The Team Lead is responsible for implementing and executing on a global launch excellence process supporting the global growth of for GEP Sterile Injectables (SI) portfolio and will be primarily accountable for driving successful execution of global new SI pipeline and global expansion product launches. This position can be located in north suburban Chicago/Lake Forest, NYHQ or Peapack, NJ; relocation provided. Responsibilities Pipeline Facilitating collaboration with R&D in developing new formulations and guiding the portfolio, primarily complex molecules Developing business cases to secure funding and prioritize initiatives Ensuring successful shift from simple to complex Maintaining knowledge of external players to inform Business Development (BD) Maintaining a perspective across the portfolio through monthly regional pipeline reviews, New Product Launch (NPL) process, Sales & Operating Plan (S&OP) process Assigning products to team (not responsible for directly managing assets) Serving as the commercial lead for all regions for assets within responsibilities Providing guidance for shaping regional priorities Owning strategic elements in terms of framing asset strategy and driving development execution Launch Leading execution of timely, multiple, global launches in a single year including working with regional counterparts Responsible for overseeing the development of global launch strategies to support launch, incorporating market formation expectations, and translating launch strategies into commercial forecasts and scenario planning Planning successful global roll-out and continuous improvement of the global generic NPL end-to-end process Interfaces with Regional representatives (Regional Presidents, Commercial leads, SI leads), R&D (Regulatory, Development, ESD, Program Management), Pfizer Global Supply (PGS), Quality, API Sourcing, Operations), Intellectual Property, Commercial (Pipeline, On Market, Lifecycle management (LCM), BD) Manages a Director Pipeline and New Product Launches Qualifications Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences or similar discipline is required; MBA strongly preferred Key capabilities required: A minimum of 10 years of generic pharmaceutical industry experience with product development and/or commercialization including 3 years of lifecycle product management or project management experience in the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences fields Market / P&L experience ideal including launch Strong analytics and financial acumen along with comfort with ambiguity and speed of decision making Strong leadership & influencing skills; matrix management Candidates should have demonstrated: Experience with both development and commercialization of products Self-starter with successful track record of achieving product line goals Demonstrated ability to effectively distill a large amount of complex customer, clinical, market, and technical data from multiple sources into a clear product value proposition and to articulate and communicate this value proposition to a range of customer and internal audiences Strong analytical skills with experience with financial forecasts and modeling or data analysis skills.
