To report an error in content currently or imminently to appear on Main Page, use the appropriate section below. Reports should contain:

  • Where is the error? An exact quotation using {{!xt}} of the text in question helps.
  • Offer a correction if possible using {{xt}}.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 05:28 on 14 October 2025) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
  • Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
  • Actual errors only. Failures of subjective criteria such as interestingness are not errors.
  • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
  • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

  • ... that the first Slovenian restaurant to earn three Michelin stars was helmed by a woman? First, this seems wrong. It was "helmed" by two persons, "the woman" was head of the kitchen but the restaurant was run by her husband as well. But seriously, are we still at the "a woman" stage of paternalising feminism? She has her own article, for crying out loud, and the restaurant didn't get three stars because she is a woman. Would we write "was helmed by a man"? Suggest ... that the kitchen of the first Slovenian restaurant to earn three Michelin stars was helmed by Ana Roš?. Fram (talk) 08:34, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    • The article also doesn't attach any weight to her gender, so this violates at least the spirit of WP:DYKHOOKCITE. I'm also concerned about WP:DYKSTUB: The article is just barely over the bare minimum of 1,500 characters (at 1,615), but 259 words on a Michelin-starred restaurant with high-quality RS coverage sure feels like a stub under WP:STUBLENGTH (there are subjects about which a lot could be written, and their articles may still be stubs even if they are a few paragraphs long; cf. User:Grutness/Croughton-London rule of stubs). And while I appreciate that ERRORS doesn't concern itself with some of the more procedural rules of DYK like interestingness, all stubs are inherently NPOV risks (since they cannot have been fully assessed for WP:DUE/WP:BALANCE), especially when living people and extant businesses are involved, so I do think this falls in our jurisdiction. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 08:45, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
WP:DYKHOOKCITE only requires that hooks be covered in the article, not that facts have significant weight attached to them. If we were to have that requirement we would have a significant amount less hooks proposed that are of any interest to anyone. That said, I think Fram's suggestion above resolves any issues. TarnishedPathtalk 08:59, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like this should be integrated into the article for context:

Her achievements are all the more remarkable considering the male-dominated profession she is working in: while there are 125 male chefs with three Michelin stars, just five women have held the same accolade (they are all in Europe).[1]

      Bagumba (talk) 09:19, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the page's current wording of his then partner Roš, doesn't necessarily convey her being a woman.—Bagumba (talk) 09:21, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
While I fully agree that highlighting the "it's a woman!" aspect of this sounds more like the 1950s than the 2020s, the suggested alt "that the kitchen of the first Slovenian restaurant to earn three Michelin stars was helmed by Ana Roš" looks like the most banal hook I've ever seen. If Ana Roš were a famous name from some other walk of life, who went on to open a Michelin-star restaurant that would be worth highlighting, but she's famous for being a chef and this is her principal restaurant. The hook is effectively saying "<Name of restaurant> is helmed by <name of chef who helms the restaurant>". Per Tamzin's point that the article is barely long enough anyway, I suggest we just pull this one and close the nom as unsuccessful.  — Amakuru (talk) 09:34, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I was going to suggest "the first Slovenian restaurant to earn three Michelin stars is based in a former military hospital" but the source cited in the article doesn't actually support this and I have tagged it as such - Dumelow (talk) 09:53, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed.--Launchballer 10:29, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
DYK is for intriguing/unusual facts and this is still unusual. I suggest something like "... that the kitchen of the first Slovenian restaurant to earn three Michelin stars was helmed by Ana Roš, one of only five women out of 130 with that accolade?". This was a driveby nom and so I've done little actual research, though didn't see anything glaring missing - it covers history, its menu, and its reception.--Launchballer 10:29, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Annie Féolde, Nadia Santini, Anne-Sophie Pic, Elena Arzak, Dominique Crenn, Clare Smyth, Hélène Darroze, Karen Urie-Shields (?), and Ana Roš, would make 8 or 9, if there articles (and List of female chefs with Michelin stars) is up to date. Fram (talk) 11:01, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dumelow's suggestion looks good. TarnishedPathtalk 11:05, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No it doesn't. The source says that it was "a hospital during the First World War", this is not necessarily the same as "a military hospital". Fram (talk) 11:14, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"that the first Slovenian restaurant to earn three Michelin stars is based in a former hospital".
"... that the kitchen of the first Slovenian restaurant to earn three Michelin stars was helmed by Ana Roš, making her one of the few women with that accolade?"--Launchballer 11:21, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There's enough going on here that I've pulled the hook instead of trying to force through a resolution against the ticking clock. RoySmith (talk) 11:25, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Errors in "On this day"

For today's OTD: "2019 – At the Chicago Marathon, Kenyan runner Brigid Kosgei (pictured) set the current marathon world record for women running in a mixed-sex race."

It isn't the current marathon world record (mixed-sex or otherwise). Per Marathon world record progression#Women and [2], she hasn't held the mixed record since 2023.

I suggest replacing it with the current marathon record (which happened on the same day five years later): "2024 – At the Chicago Marathon, Kenyan runner Ruth Chepng'etich (pictured) set the current marathon world record for women." --Habst (talk) 12:23, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

We can use this picture. It's true that Chepng'etich has been provisionally suspended for doping months after her record, but that hasn't yet invalidated the record so the new statement I propose is accurate as written. --Habst (talk) 12:26, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I presumed this had been part of OTD before the world record changed, but it was actually added in September this year. I think we need to be very careful of "current" anything as we don't know when the statement was made and they are not kept up to date. Secretlondon (talk) 12:38, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. To change it to an evergreen statement, "2024 – At the Chicago Marathon, Kenyan runner Ruth Chepng'etich (pictured) set a marathon world record for women of 2:09:56 hours." --Habst (talk) 13:02, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"the mansion and its accompanying coach house was built"

should be

"the mansion and its accompanying coach house were built"

since the combination of the mansion and its coach house creates a plural subject, necessitating a plural verb to match. ShoneBrooks (talk) 21:35, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
